The last time I visited Avebury I took pictures, this was approx 1992, I noticed some of the stones had changed since then, some due to rain erosion, some had huge chunks missing.

I compared some of the before and after photos and will be adding these pictures to these pages once scanned in.
Now I have a digital camera to take my photos in those good old days, I used a 35mm camera!

in the little Wiltshire village of Avebury stands a very large stone circle, it’s quite different from Stonehenge and Woodhenge and the village has a lovely little village pub where you can enjoy a quiet drink and a meal with superb views over the Avebury Stone Circle.
This pub has very friendly staff! In Avebury village there is also a small vegetarian B & B if you are considering a holiday to Avebury. I should think the B&B at Avebury gets pretty booked up as it enjoys excellent views of Avebury stone circle and is right next to the pub!
